End of March update

Potatoes planted 28 March. It is a lovely time of year with crisp mornings and warm middays. Fruit trees all starting to blossom – rather early, so it will be a disaster if we have a heavy frost.

Planted potatoes 28 March. Three rows, 80cm apart with between 35-40cm spacing per plant. Celtiane, Victoria and Axona Sarpo. Rhubarb (in foreground) looking healthy too. Notice how my wall is growing as we unearth more rocks!
Under fleece plants are doing wellI – CCA lettuce, beetroot, turnips and spinach and spring onions have sprouted well. Transplanted lettuce and pakchoi today.  Seeded parsley and chervil, carrots Amsterdam.
Who said vegetables aren’t pretty?  Broad beans flowering…..
The first peas have started to pod. Not many make it to the kitchen as we both enjoy eating them raw 🙂

Everything is starting to sprout now. Herbs – tarragon, oregano, thyme, lemon thyme, shives and sage in the ash bin starting to look good again.
