Sowing and seedlings

IMG_5851Seedlings are proving a challenge this year. I  decided that my small seedling trays are too small and that I need to pot out the small plants far quicker than I have been doing.  Have now ordered slightly bigger seedling trays to try as well.

The special chilli seeds that C got for Christmas are proving impossible to germinate.  Maybe it has just not been warm enough, but even after soaking the second round of seeds, as recommended, I have had about a 1% success rate.

But I have finally got a better understanding of germinating carrots – they must not be seeded in very hot weather, and the rows need to be kept moist at all times. Only after the have sprouted can they be left in peace! (that is, if the snails don’t eat them all!)
