Controlling wildlife ( aka wishful thinking!)

This year we had real problems with animals. Deer (roe deer) badly damaged fruit trees, breaking off whole branches and then returning later to nibble off branches. They also discovered the chard and sorrel in the potager & reduced that to ragged stalks.

We also had issues with our neighbour’s cows. They discovered that the lush grass growing on our new septic tank drains was very tasty.  We worry that they might damage the piping.

We have bought poles to put up a fence, but in the meantime have installed an electric fence. Deer can easily jump over it, but I am told that even an unelectrified white cord deters them. I am not so sure…
