Putting the potager to bed!

Damp mist & cool today so it really feels like winter is on its way. So I have done a final planting & am now putting the potager to bed for winter 🙂

Planted garlic & shallots.   Garlic Germidour & Shallots Jermor.

Also put in 2 rows of broad beans. Still a few mache plants there, but we’ll eat those next week. I am not at all confident about the broad beans – all will depend on the severity of our winter…..

I’ve netted all the beds with young plants to protect them against birds, rabbits & deer. As I was working today my favourite little Robin joined me & I felt quite guilty about shutting him out of the beds. ( he is on the stake at the far corner of the bed in the photo below)
