Planting in November

The French talk a lot about planting on St Catherine’s day (25 November)  The adage goes  “a la St Catherine, tout bois prends racine” (On St Catherine’s all wood takes root)  So it is considered to be the best time to plant bare rooted trees and to take cuttings of deciduous plants. For that reason I have decided to do all my fruit tree planting in November.

Building work is still ongoing, so only time to plant one tree this year:

  1. Apricot Polonais
